So FabU on the Road is sort of like New York city, the city so nice they named it twice: New York, NY. You need to attend more than once. I say that because I attended the first SoFabU in Industry City, California in late January of this year. The Blackbird went west, AKA me, to spend the winter in what turned out to be a long winter along the Eastern Seaboard. I decided to attend SoFabU’s maiden voyage of taking their university level, expert matter instruction on the road.
Alea Milham was the Keynote. She taught a session on SEO and what a teacher she is! Among social media enthusiasts, there is always conversation about ROI. Well, I feel my money was excellently spent and I am investing again. I am encouraging you to do the same, especially if you are a solopreneur or an entrepreneur.
Why Attend SoFabU More Than Once
I continue to wrestle with SEO. My attempts to effectively measure the work of an SEO expert that I hired suggests I need more instruction. Therefore, I am returning for another master course with better questions this time. What am I not communicating correctly to this person? Is this person qualified to do this work or are they a good salesperson? I think that if I understood SEO better, I’d be a better manager of this person’s talents. Or I would know they were a fraud. Either way, this is a win.
The keynote in New York is Jessica Woodbury whose topic will be a follow up on SEO: How to Use SEO to Supercharge Your Posts. SEO is SO important to our success and most of the SEO advice out there isn’t geared specifically towards single-contributor lifestyle blogs. Jessica, I am told, will cover basic SEO and specific blogger strategies to work on building search traffic and how to increase domain authority. Jessica’s presentation will help us consider readers who are finding our blog from search, how to attract them, how to retain them, and how to increase domain authority with a specific SEO-posting strategy so all posts rise in search. This has been a challenge for me. I have pretty much mastered the technical things like alt tags and meta descriptions and now feel prepared to focus on improving my writing and photo strategies.
How to Register
Here is the SoFabU on the Road Website to register if you are at all interested. I strongly recommend it for value. Why not meet me there and let’s celebrate our new learnings. Here is also a full Agenda for the day.
Muller, Kraft and IBlog are the sponsors, so they will bring value to the conversation about how best to interact with them. I know that because Muller and IBlog were sponsors in California. There will be more program content for the day, including sessions on Video, Email Marketing, Sponsored posts, networking, and other learning opportunities. This really is a good value.
