Someone may ask how can you visit and stay in a Chicago hotel without an understanding of this hometown favorite. Well the truth is you don’t care. You neither know or care whether deep dish pizza is a casserole or a pie. If that is your situation, here are eight establishments to choose from depending upon the neighborhood you are in so that you can have what you want.

The Osteria Via Stato earns rave reviews especially for its pizza. It’s a family style, foodie-friendy, full menu restaurant where there is something for everyone. If you want to be spoiled with food the Italian way, go here. The chef is into over-indulging clients. Osteria via Stato opens daily at 5 pm.
Marcellos Father & Son Restaurant
Marcellos Father & Son Restaurant has been in business since 1947 and their tagline, “They love what they do,” says it all about the love that goes into their pizza. There are multiple locations and they are famous for their thin crust and gluten-free pizza.
Aurelios Pizza
Thin crust pizza is synonymous with Aurelios Pizza and has been since the business opened in 1959. Aurelios prides itself on quality ingredients, generous proportions, and their ability to customize orders to suit each individual taste.
Pequod’s Pizza
Visit the Chicago location and order exactly what you want. Pequod’s Pizza serves up thin crust pizza by the slice or in different size pies. Stella Barra Pizzeria
Not-to-be missed is Stella Barra Pizzeria, an artisanal pizzeria where on any given day you may find fresh farmers market ingredients on your pizza. The menu boasts handcrafted dough using flour milled in California, filtered water, sea salt and fresh yeast that creates a crisp crust, chewy center and unique artisan flavor.
Antica Pizzeria
All pizzas at Antica Pizzeria’s are made with homemade dough, fresh mozzarella and homemade marinara sauce, according to their menu. Antica Pizzeria provides the Andersonville neighborhood its first ever wood burning pizza oven and a claim that they bake the truest of traditional Italian pizza recipes.
Pete’s Pizza
Like most of the carry out pizza establishments, Pete’s Pizza serves pizza to match almost everyone’s taste. Everyone in your group can be satisfied. Because you can order the Wise Guy pizza (Grilled Italian sausage, Italian Beef and Giardinera on a double hoagie crust) or the S.O.B (sausage, bacon, red onion) in addition to thin crust pizza.
Tocco
This Bucktown restaurant has received excellent accolades for it thin crust from several foodie critics. According to one reviewer, Tocco’s “Neapolitan-style” pizza with its blackened wafer-thin thin crusts are to die for. Just reading that description will probably send you running in Tocco’s direction.
