We boomers began our journey as grown-ups with legal cannabis as part of the social landscape during a time of heightened social change. Now we find ourselves as fully grown-up boomers, aging magnificently, once again during a time of social change.
We highly prize the freedom to live our lives as we choose. When it comes to legal cannabis, we no longer believe we have to hide in the bushes about our choices. That is a hallmark of our psychographic, whether our interest is strictly recreational or medicinal.
According to a survey conducted by Eaze of 350,000 cannabis consumers in California, Baby Boomers (1946-1964) are the fastest growing age group of cannabis consumers. In 2017, cannabis orders by Baby Boomers increased by 19%. The survey goes on to say Baby Boomers make up the most demand for cannabis topicals. Approximately 14% of Baby Boomers purchased topicals in 2017, but overall they prefer to use vaporizers (63%). And finally, Boomers spent on average approximately $185 a month on cannabis in 2017.
This is just the tip of an iceberg.
