Seems like every time I turn around there’s another product, another book, or another practice promising that I will lose weight. My excitement goes through the roof. I think that this time I’ve finally found the solution to getting my scale to move from a 2 pound range.
First I thought that I would participate in a nationwide raw food movement. But when I saw my internist on my 3 month visit last week, she asked me why I wanted to do this. I told her I wanted to do a cleanse. She told me she’d clean my colon as clean as a whistle and I wouldn’t have to eat raw for 10 days. It was a little ridiculous for me considering I am not even a vegan. I decided to go with her medical suggestion since I am joining the Girl Trek Movement on April 1 to walk at least 30 minutes five days per week for 30 days. Ten thousand women nationwide are participating in this effort to help Black women get fit.
I regularly walk with my sister from a different mother. She is Irish and we walk together all around the different Jersey Shore towns. But beginning April 1st, I will pump my efforts up a bit to in order to burn off more calories. Even if that means going to the gym more times per week. I will also begin using the Live Strong app to track calories rather than guess that I have eaten less than I actually have.
Do not think you are the only one struggling with a problem that requires a new habit. Join me with confronting at least one thing for 30 days. We are closing one door in order to open another. We can be accountable to each other. I have told you what my 30 day goal will be. What will yours be?
