Do you have any strategic initiatives planned for your future? What specifically are you thinking when it comes to long-term planning for your health, finances, legal issues, and home issues? This is not a question for “OLD” or “OLDER” people, but a real question for anyone who loves the other people in their lives. And just like you plan for straight teeth, this is another topic that deserves attention.
But here’s an even bigger question: what are you doing to address your answers to these questions? I shared with a couple of friends that I have had some mental disturbances whenever I try to focus on taking action in this regard. I don’t know what Joseph Campbell’s myths have to say about what we tell ourselves about life and death; but I think I thought that if I addressed it, something bad would happen. Cray, Cray, yes I know.
Well for the next week I am going to be sharing my participation on the Decide, Create, Share initiative that AARP is launching to help women in particular, address this in a holistic way. I am part of their Kitchen Cabinet and I invite you to join me in completing this challenge over the course of 40 days that will surely answer these questions once and for all for you. It will launch next week so let’s help keep each other focused. We won’t be sharing our responses, but we can be accountable to each other in setting a time frame for completing this together.
But first, tell me the truth: do you get Cray,Cray when it is time to focus on long term planning like me? What kind of things hold you back from taking action? Tell me what holds you back from finishing your long term planning. I can’t be the only one dealing with this angst.
