I could never fully understand my mother’s love for the Nature when I was young. She got so much pleasure from working her garden, both alone and with her sisters. It seems I have now acquired this same love for planting seeds, nurturing the earth’s composition, trying to figure out what each plant needs and hoping for the best.
When I travel in particular, I am shocked at the end of the day with the number of nature shots I have taken. Either I notice something for the first time or I am witness to a new birth or change in a plant that simply did not exist the day before. Because I took the bus each day while in Austin, Texas attending SXSW, opportunities to notice Nature’s magic were plentiful. These are from one day.
I just looked down and these were peeping up at me. It reminded me that Nature is breathing right along me.
When I am running away from these golden bees I forget that they are some of the hardest workers in the cosmos and deserve much applause for all they do in creating and supporting growth and beauty.
I’d never seen a cactus plant this large living in the Northeast and they don’t grow naturally in the Northwest except perhaps on the Olympic Peninsula in the rainforest. And I am not even sure of that statement. But the point of this picture are the red circular buds. I do believe these are the flowers of a cactus plant.
Ginormous Aloe Vera plants that took my breath away. I wonder if aloe vera juice comes from these plants.
I walked pass the Trace Building located at 200 Lavaca Street and was drawn in by the sounds of live music on the streets and this beautiful composition. Clearly I am not the only one to appreciate the beauty of Nature that is.
Note: all pictures taken by me except bumble-bee

Interesting that you found all of that nature at a tech conference in Austin. Although I don’t garden much anymore, there was a time that it offered peace during a turbulent chapter in my life. Digging the soil, plants responding with blossoms – it was a balm for my soul.

Amazing the things you see when you ride the bus every day. I am generally moving too quickly in transportation to have noticed most of this. Thanks for commenting.

Lovely photos. I especially like the one with the bee — hard to capture those when you don’t want to get too close. My husband is the really big nature lover in the family. He takes tons of nature photos and when I see them, I’m always glad that he took the time.

That makes me laugh Catherine. The bee is the only photo I did not take myself. Photo credit noted below. Thanks for your comment.
