Hotel Lincoln, a Joie de Vivre Hotel
Hotel Lincoln, a Joie de Vivre Hotel describes itself as vintage hotel with preppy highlights. It sits in north downtown Chicago on the Gold Coast and was fully renovated in 2012. Not only will your rooms not disappoint, you’ll be happy to learn that Lincoln Park is right at your finger tips. Not only are there trails to explore in Lincoln Park but when you think about this, it is like having your hotel room extended when traveling with kids. Hotel rooms come with either a lake or park view. The kids will be happy that there is free WiFi.
Intercontinental Chicago Magnificent Mile
The Intercontinental Chicago Magnificent Mile is perfect for adults in that it affords luxury that adults crave. But this location will also allow families the luxury of walking to museums. The Navy Pier, a definite favorite among children, as well as the Shedd Aquarium and Oak Street Beach are also very close by. There is magnificent pool, yet another option as a source of entertainment when the kids need to blow off steam.
The Palmer House Hilton
Parks are a great draw when traveling with families. In the case of The Palmer House Hilton, you will be close to Grant Park, a mecca for festivals and you will be close to the Art Institute and Millennium Park. Like the Intercontinental, The Palmer House Hilton is close to Navy Pier and the Chicago Children’s Museum. The complimentary breakfast is a bonus for families.

Add the Omni Chicago Hotel to the list of luxury hotels that are great for families traveling with kids. It too is close the those mentioned above in downtown Chicago. Many of the same institutions are within walking distance such as the Art Institute of Chicago. This is an all-suite hotel where no smoking is allowed. There is an indoor swimming pool and after all, this is a Michigan Avenue address. There are also two outdoor sun decks for lounging so there is somewhere to go with the kids without leaving the premises.
