I am busy tying up loose ends from 2014, waiting for the arrival of a new grandson while at the same time identifying ways to make 2015 better. Readers know I travel and one of the reasons I travel is to educate myself. I am looking forward to an upcoming event I want to share. It is SoFab on the Road which will take place in Los Angeles January 30th. This is the inaugural city for a new way that Collective Bias is presenting educational material. It will be a day-long, hands-on, interactive session(s) for those who like to have some time to implement what they’re learning right on the spot. The sessions are paired with a fun city-specific adventure where we’ll get to put our newly learned skills to test.
Social Fabric, in case you are not familiar and are in the the business of blogging, is a great community that helps you connect with brands. Once you’re accepted (so apply), you’ll learn how to monetize your blog better through opportunities such as this; and you’ll learn to grow your audience and build genuine relationships with other bloggers like yourself. SoFabU or Social Fabric University provides online influencer educational opportunities to all of its members to help them grow their influence.
In Los Angeles, we’ll spend the day with Alea Milham, founder of Premeditated Leftovers, a lifestyle blog with an emphasis on living intentionally. She originally created her blog as an extension of her volunteer work as a budget counselor. When her husband was forced to take a 20 percent pay cut, she responded by transforming her site from a part-time hobby blog into a full-time business. She now coaches other bloggers and helps them develop strategies to increase their traffic and identify ways to monetize their site. She also works as a social media consultant helping both bloggers and businesses increase engagement across their social media platforms. I cannot think of a better topic to occupy my day than learning real tasks that will make a difference to my blogging’s bottom line. It’s a central location easily accessible from various highways.
Shout out to the sponsors. Johnny Rockets is the LA host and national sponsor. Muller is the national breakfast sponsor. IBlog Magazine is the national magazine sponsor.
