I had an opportunity to partner with the American Heart Association to help myself and thereby help others learn how to #break up with salt. If you are anything like me, you enjoy popcorn, salted sunflower seeds, pretzels, and potato chips. That is a list of the obviously salted snacks and doesn’t begin to pull the curtain back on hidden sodium in many things, like Chinese food, that on the surface doesn’t shout sodium. I knew that I’d made some progress when I ordered and could not eat this particular dish of Udon noodles. It was delicious but simply too salty for me to eat. The combination of soy and duck sauce were too much. Pop over and read what I wrote about how my family history of high blood pressure has led me to lower my sodium intake. It’s packed with information, some of which may be new to you. I think I can do that without sacrificing taste.
