Hello Jason Goldman. Congratulations on your new job and the openness that you are expressing in moving into it. Thanks to Ananda Leeke’s sharing your Medium post, I too felt compelled to bring an audience to your attention as your involvement in change begins to envelop you. I love the way you laid out your Medium post. I am taking a page from that in structuring this public response.
What I believe
We black boomer bloggers were among the first to go to college in our families, to study and live abroad and to speak another language other than English. We were raised on the ideas of integration, assimilation, no justice , no peace but also hope. We are driven by our love for lifelong learning and we are among the browning of the aging population that will soon constitute the largest segment of the US population. Many of us continue these life practices with full participation in the Internet. Yet we are often not included as early adapters. In the rapid changes now occurring I am hoping that you will not forget us as solutions to disruptive aging and maturity are reimagined or as we create solutions using information and technology to improve healthcare.
The Challenge
I am part of a community of mainstream midlifers. I am also a member of multiple inter-generational online communities. However opportunities for black boomer bloggers trickle. I am sharing this perspective and asking you to remember us. We have supported the development of creativity and innovation in our children, some of whom you may know. I hope that you will remember this in giving “all Americans a way to engage their government on the issues that matter to them” as you move forward.
Right on Jason Goldman and Hollah back.

Patricia, Thank you for introducing our voices into the wider digital conversation! Like our Native First Nation sister-grandmothers, we are America’s patient Grandmothers who possess wisdom, advice and knowledge. Our age and unique American experience gives us moral authority. We will continue to open the dialogue, speak, act and build up our nation! Amen!

Right On Patricia! You said it! Our participation as baby boomers have been neglected and/or ignored. However, our contributions have been and will continue to be enormous as we move onward.
