What’s a Big Game party without chicken wings. Most hardcore fans will say it’s not a party without chicken wings. Yet that does not mean the chicken wings must be fried. They just need to taste as good as a fried chicken wing. My go-to healthy or alternative solution for this on Game Day will be baked chicken wings with my special rub. These are MVP baked chicken wings. The secret is in my rub that is well thought out and rubbed onto each and every wing or winglet. When that is done, you may never eat a fried chicken wing again.
The wings themselves have quite a bit of oil. So there is no need to include oil in the preparation. Generally I eyeball the quantities of spices in my rub. It changes sometimes in its taste I admit because if I am feeling spicy, then there may be more chili powder than smoked paprika in the rub. But there are constants. Here is what I use.
Chili pepper
Smoked paprika
Turmeric (dash)
Cumin
Salt and pepper to taste.
Once the wings are washed thoroughly and patted dry, I place them on parchment paper and bake at 400 degrees Fahrenheit for perhaps 45- 50 minutes. The longer you bake the wings, the more crisp and fried-like they taste (smile). The parchment paper helps with the clean up.
Eat up friends. If you eat chicken wings do you bake fry your chicken wings?
