Austin, Texas is known as the entrepreneurial hub for a large community of creatives, ranging from food artists to innovative makers and gamers to technology entrepreneurs and the best of live musicians. As a beloved Texan city and home to University of Texas (UT) and host to several international events, you’ll quickly learn that accommodations are always at a premium in Austin. For hotels in Austin and easy stays, think both downtown near the capital as well as a few miles within the downtown perimeter.

There are many sayings that attempt to capture what Texas is all about, including, “Everything’s bigger in Texas.” Austin has its own descriptor of “Keep Austin weird.” After your visit you will immediately understand what is meant when someone says this is one of Keep Austin Weird’s hotels. Because on the surface, Austin’s quirkiness is not clear. You’d probably never guess that there is a clothing optional beach within 20 minutes of the city capital, nor that you can go to a saloon to watch chickens play bingo on a Sunday evening, or that in the Texas hill country you can get excellent barbecue, or visit a real castle. Austin is a city you will return to, because Austin really does keep it weird.
