The Life Reimagined Life Check Up Will Help You Discover What’s Next
I just wanted to share a great Life Reimagined experience I think you will enjoy. Recently I made my first real trip to AARP’s Life @50 conference in Boston where I participated in the Life Reimagined Life Check Up. Some of you regular readers have heard me say I have re-imagined my life several times before. But I realize now that each time I did this, my thought was simply that I was becoming more of myself. I didn’t really think of these periods of transition as reimagining myself.
When I was 24, I wrote my big brother’s small business plan. He was 9 years older than me, informally educated and a true business wiz. His words to me because I was college-educated were, “If I were half as smart as you, I would have been a millionaire a long time ago.” Unlike him, I was struggling and stuck in a kind of malaise. I had been fortunate to have many experiences and adventures but felt lost. It was not until I realized I could run to something rather than away from everything that my life began to change. My brother in his own intelligence knew to cling to where he was drawn. I played between the waves.
Today part of my adventure involves me learning to tell stories visually. My Life Reimagined Life Check Up has given me the courage to move forward on this. Perfection will have to wait. Here’s my first video. Sound does not match images yet. Please stick with me. It will get better. Just focus on substance (smile).
